Center for Development of Human Services New York Trainee Travel
Prior to travel, the trainee will receive a confirmation letter outlining the upcoming trip. Trainees should take note of arrival dates and hotel and training locations.
Any questions should be directed to the trainee’s staff developer/agency coordinator, or trainees can call Center for Development of Human Services Registration Services
at (716) 876-7600, ext. 600. For trainees requesting a single room, the Center for Development of Human Services will be direct billed by the hotel for their portion.
The trainee will be responsible for the remainder. With some exceptions, participants for
Child Welfare/Child Protective Services Common Core Training for Caseworkers (Common Core) will receive their meal money at the hotel.
All other participants will receive their meal money through the reimbursement process.
Trainees will also be reimbursed for their transportation expenses, provided they meet Trainee Travel Guidelines as outlined by the New York State Office of
Children and Family Services Bureau of Training. Trainees should receive transportation instructions, including carpooling assignments,
from their staff developer/agency coordinator. Only designated drivers will be paid when traveling by car. Mileage reimbursement is $.21 per
mile and is figured on the round-trip distance from the trainee’s office to the training site per MapQuest. For reimbursement purposes,
foster parents’ home addresses are considered their worksite.
